Battlesuit 7 (Hero)
Full Name: John Everett Cole
Faction: Supreme Alliance
When war was declared, John Cole didn’t hesitate to sign up. A fiercely patriotic engineer from Pittsburgh, Cole saw the conflict not just as a call to arms but as a chance to defend the ideals he held dear. He traded his drafting table for a rifle and served with distinction in the U.S. Army during World War II, using his technical skills to support his unit’s operations. But his service came at a cost. During an intense skirmish against vanguard forces in Eastern Europe, a mortar shell tore through Cole’s position, leaving him gravely injured. His body broken, Cole returned home wheelchair-bound, his dreams of further military service dashed.
For many, such an injury might have marked the end of a story. For John Cole, it was the beginning of a new chapter. Refusing to give in to despair, he took a civilian role with the Office of Naval Research (ONR), where his keen mind found new purpose. Tasked with archiving and analyzing shelved military projects, Cole poured over blueprints, prototypes, and concepts, a graveyard of failed ideas. Yet, as John sifted through the scraps of abandoned ingenuity, a vision began to form. What if these discarded technologies could be unified into a greater whole?
With tireless dedication, Cole worked in secret, salvaging pieces from a dozen different projects. Powered exoskeletons, jump thrusters, reactive shielding, each piece was shaped and adapted into a component in Cole’s plans. By combining them, he created something unprecedented: a prototype battle armor which he named Battlesuit-1. The bulky, rugged armor was far from perfect, but when demonstrated to the brass, it proved its worth. Cole had produced a one-man tank, a weapon of unparalleled potential. Testing on proving grounds was emphatically positive. The military though, impressed but pragmatic, deemed Cole’s creation too costly for mass production. However, recognizing his vision and passion, they granted Cole a unique concession: he would pilot the suit himself and develop it further.
In the following years, Cole refined and upgraded his creation. Each iteration improved upon the last, incorporating advances in technology and lessons from the battlefield. With every step forward, the suit’s capabilities grew, and Cole’s skill as its pilot became legendary. When he unveiled Battlesuit-7, the pinnacle of his work, he had transformed into a true Supreme, capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the greatest heroes of the Supreme Alliance.
Unlike previous configurations, Battlesuit-7 featured dual combat modes: a heavily armored siege mode for prolonged engagements and a mobile strike mode to deliver maximum offensive capability. Its integrated weaponry allowed Cole to adapt to any threat, whether it was street-level Supreme chaos or global-scale conflicts. This versatility caught the attention of the Supreme Alliance, who saw in Cole not just a powerful ally but a symbol of American ingenuity and resilience.
As a member of the Supreme Alliance, Battlesuit-7 faced foes old and new. The Red Republik, long-time adversaries of the Alliance, were recurring nemeses, with their Supremes, particularly the horrors of created for professor Hammer’s Iron Curtain Division. The Red Republik sought to capture and dismantle Cole’s armor and expose his secrets. Despite their efforts, Cole’s resolve never wavered. Battlesuit-7 was more than a weapon; it was the embodiment of his indomitable spirit.
